About The Position

Under limited supervision, supports the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs. Responsible for completing field tasks and administrative duties, as well as ensuring regulatory compliance of the EHS program, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer knowledge (MS Office).
  • Good interpersonal relationships.
  • Knowledge of EHS standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, JCA, others).
  • Presentation skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift trainer certification and OSHA 30-hour certification.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the accident investigation process, including implementation and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Implement ergonomics programs and conduct continuous evaluations.
  • Coordinate the plant's EHS training schedule.
  • Provide regulatory training to regular employees, temporaries, and contractors on procedures established by OSHA, EPA, and Natural Resources, as well as company policies.
  • Conduct continuous safety inspections in different plant areas and ensure compliance with established EHS policies and procedures.
  • Notify supervision and/or management in case of non-compliance.
  • Participate as an active member of the Safety, Medical Response Emergencies, and Ergonomics Committees.
  • Support plant evacuation and emergency management processes, as needed.
  • Observe and evaluate employees during work activities to identify and/or determine the personal protective equipment they need, as well as other safety equipment to carry out their daily tasks.
  • Provide support in the establishment and review of EHS policies and/or procedures, as required.
  • Train Safety Committee members on Behavior Base Safety, Hazard Communication programs, among others.
  • Provide support to the physical plant and maintenance areas for the continuous improvement of the facilities.
  • Direct, document, and analyze "Behavior Base Safety" and Safety programs.
  • Execute other tasks and projects, as required.
  • Maintain work area clean and orderly.
  • Support lean initiatives (5s, RIE’s, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step).
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including those related to EHS and ISO.
