About The Position

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician I support the implementation and maintenance of workplace safety and environmental programs. This role assists in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while promoting a safe and sustainable work environment. The EHS Technician I works under guidance to monitor safety practices, conduct inspections, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety practices
  • Ability to use computers, including MS office suite, ERP for procurement and other EHS specific software
  • Ability to identify hazards and recognize unsafe conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High school Diploma, GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment (internship/co-op experience acceptable)
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations or workplace safety principles preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification; willingness to obtain additional certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Support routine workplace inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and unsafe conditions.
  • Support and sustain collection and reporting and communication of data to plant and organization stakeholders.
  • Assist with incident investigations, including documenting findings and helping identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Help coordinate and deliver basic safety training programs, including new hire orientation and recurring safety topics.
  • Maintain safety records, track basic safety metrics, and assist with report preparation.
  • Assist with waste management, SPCC, recycling programs, and environmental compliance activities.
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness initiatives.
  • Control of PPE stock and creation of replenishment requisitions.
