This role involves engaging employees and leaders on machine safety expectations, hazard recognition, safe behaviors, PPE use, and pre-use checks. The EHS Tech will communicate safety findings to local production teams, provide coaching, reinforce positive safety behaviors, and escalate concerns when additional support is needed. They will support the inspection of new or modified machinery and assist with EHS-led risk assessments by gathering field observations and employee input. The role reinforces expectations for guarding, safety devices, and hazardous energy control during non-routine work, and escalates immediate or uncontrolled machine safety risks. Incident follow-up for machine-related observations, near misses, and injuries is also a key responsibility, including gathering information and supporting root cause discussions and corrective action tracking. The EHS Tech will support broader EHS activities such as PPE compliance, hazard communication, and contractor work controls, and partner with EHS to promote compliance with site procedures and OSHA General Industry expectations. This role requires accurate and timely completion of documentation, tracking of leading indicators, and using field data to recommend improvements. The EHS Tech is empowered to intervene in unsafe conditions or behaviors and stop work when imminent danger exists.
