About The Position

The EHS Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment within Oterra’s manufacturing operations. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe working environment across the site by coordinating safety programs, training, inspections, and incident investigations. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and company policies, while fostering a proactive safety culture that prioritizes employee well-being and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in an EHS or safety coordination role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and food manufacturing regulatory requirements (GMP, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software (e.g., EHS compliance systems).
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to safety improvement.
  • Analytical and solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Committed to upholding Oterra’s values of safety, quality, and sustainability.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the site’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Lead and document incident investigations, root cause analyses, and near-miss reporting.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety-related training, including new hire orientation, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, and emergency response.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills, evacuation plans, and first aid programs.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and help drive engagement and accountability at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and employees to promote best practices in workplace safety and injury prevention.
  • Monitor and track leading and lagging safety indicators to support data-driven safety performance improvements.
