About The Position

At Clark Pacific, the EHS Supervisor plays a critical role in providing EHS support to plant management, administration, superintendents, foremen, and front-line production workers. Working within the EHS and Manufacturing teams, this role provides leadership and coordination of day-to-day oversight and decisions to ensure EHS regulatory and internal program compliance is met while fostering Clark Pacific’s core values.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role as an individual contributor is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental, or related field or equivalent education and experience of minimum of 4 years is required.
  • Maintain current certification for CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Proven ability conducting root cause research, able to apply intensive and diversified evaluation of standard plan environmental operation techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, principles, nomenclature, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic EPA regulations as they relate to the manufacturing industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to effectively listen and engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Builds strong relationships; engages and motivates teams representing diverse backgrounds and viewpoints; exceptionally collaborative.
  • Ability to maintain attentiveness to detail and accuracy throughout involvement in multiple projects without losing sight of goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills to drive topics with multiple stakeholders/interests.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills that aim to identify, remedy, and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Comfortable escalating issues while maintaining positive relationships with team members and other organizations.
  • Passionate about Clark Pacific’s vision and mission; able to promote, demonstrate, and communicate the mission, values and core competencies of Clark Pacific to others.
  • Able to exercise appropriate discretion when handling confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Display willingness and interest in stepping up into greater leadership role if the situation requires or the opportunity presents itself.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.

  • Minimum of 2 years total general manufacturing industry and/or construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough incident investigations, collect evidence and data to support effective causal analysis process.
  • Ensure EHS data entry is completed accurately and on time.
  • Report out to broader management regarding leading and lagging indicators and focus areas.
  • Be available to respond to business partner needs and emergencies which may require after-hours availability.
  • Lead and participate in comprehensive causal analysis.
  • Assist management in data analysis.
  • Execute strategic implementation plans.
  • Support all areas of Manufacturing for operational EHS needs.
  • Ensure Emergency Evacuation drills occur at least annually.
  • Function as part of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Conduct or ensure facilitation of safety orientations for contractors, visitors, and guests.
  • Lead the Woodland Safety Committee and Manufacturing Safety Task Force.
  • Manage the daily workloads of the EHS Specialist(s) and Health Specialist(s).
  • Participate in regularly scheduled workplace EHS inspections and support functional area managers in successful completion.
  • Implement ergonomic action items.
  • Support management with inter-department efforts to ensure effective management of PPE, first aid, emergency preparedness, and other safety-related equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Facilitate annual emergency evacuation drills.
  • Support the Woodland Safety Task Force.
  • Facilitate implementation of safe work plans with external parties performing work on Clark Pacific sites.
  • Lead and execute functionable and sustainable CAPAs, tracking them to sustainable closure and maximum effectiveness.
  • Execute environmental program tasks under the general direction of management.
  • Lead the BBS program and foster active participation from all manufacturing groups.
  • Coordinate with the Environmental group on new chemical request approvals and hazard assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
