About The Position

Designs, develops, implements & oversees the organization's EHS programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities & to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations. This role involves the administration of A3 review processing, including scheduling, communication, distributing lessons learned, and managing distribution lists. It also includes initiating and implementing audit processes, scheduling, communicating, and following up on corrective actions. The specialist will be responsible for scheduling and conducting cultural assessments, overseeing Greenhouse Gas initiatives by working with GDOTS sites to request and prepare data, and collaborating closely with site Quality teams and third-party verification requests. Additionally, the role serves as the Safety Committee lead, enhancing EHS training, general administration of Safety, and is a member of the BCP/DR team.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, implements & oversees the organization's EHS programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities & to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations
  • Administration of the A3 review processing; scheduling, communicating, distributing lessons learned & manages distribution lists
  • Initiates & implements audit processes; scheduling, communicating & following up on corrective actions

  • Greenhouse Gas overview including working with GDOTS sites to request data, prepare data, & work closely with site Quality teams & verification requests from third party
  • Serving as Safety Committee lead, enhance EHS training, general administration of Safety & is a member of the BCP/DR team
  • Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
  • Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
  • Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.
  • Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
  • Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
  • Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
  • Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
  • Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
  • Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.
