About The Position

The EHS Specialist will provide day-to-day EHS support to the plant and EHS Manager, ensuring compliance and safe operations. This role will deliver guidance and direction on EHS programs at the employee and supervisor level, promote and sustain a strong safety culture across the facility, and support and maintain environmental and safety compliance programs. The specialist will also complete and manage regulatory reporting and documentation, maintain accurate recordkeeping and audit-ready documentation systems, and identify and implement improvements in plant safety systems and processes. Additionally, they will lead or support safety improvement initiatives, maintain and update internal EHS tracking systems and metrics, participate in and support safety committees and engagement initiatives, and assist with incident investigations and recommend corrective actions. The role involves supporting the development and updates of EHS policies and procedures, providing EHS technical support for plant projects and initiatives, and ensuring contractor compliance with safety and environmental standards. The specialist will also deliver and support new hire safety orientation and ongoing training programs, partner with HR, Engineering, and Operations to improve EHS systems, interface with corporate EHS teams and regulatory agencies, and support continuous improvement efforts to reduce and prevent safety and environmental incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, or related field
  • 3–5 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Basic knowledge of Environmental and safety regulations
  • Experience with EHS compliance programs
  • Experience with Incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Experience with Safety training and program support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience maintaining EHS documentation and tracking systems
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships across departments
  • Effective communication and training skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and compliance
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive safety initiatives
  • Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and risk reduction
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities
