About The Position

ERM is hiring a Senior Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant to support our key technology client onsite in Redmond Washington. This is a full-time role with a minimum duration of 4 months, extendable. The ideal candidate will have general safety experience, preferably in manufacturing or high-tech R and D environments – knowledge of OSHA requirements, strong hazard recognition skills, Job Hazard Analysis, Emergency Response Plans, Risk Assessment processes, Incident response and investigation, Machine Guarding, Chemical Safety and Electrical Safety/LOTO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 7 to 15 years of experience providing EHS support with an emphasis on health and safety, particularly in Tech R and D settings. The quality of the experience, however is most important.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting processes.
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing certification or working towards certification as Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP/ASP) certification a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct risk assessments for new equipment and labs
  • Provide weekly activity reports to EHS Managers and Senior Specialists.
  • Support and attend Safety Committee Meetings and Safety Walks monthly or as needed.
  • Support Emergency Action Plan and Drill as scheduled.
  • Perform compliance and system audits to assess project compliance with applicable health and safety or environmental regulatory requirements, client standards, or management systems.
  • Assist with near miss/incident investigation process.
  • Assist with direct reading instrument calibrations and maintenance.
  • Be responsible for EHS at assigned Labs and be the voice of workers’ safety needs. Escalate issues and provide improvement ideas and feedback to Site Sr EHS Specialist on a weekly basis.
  • Support our clients’ desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
  • Develop EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
  • Support ERM Partners and Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
