About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to oversee and manage environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, as well as assist in driving continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, minimizing environmental impact, and identifying opportunities for improvements to enhance safety, productivity, and quality.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in EHS, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with EHS or CI software tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred, additional years of experience would be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certification in Environmental Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CHMM, OSHA certification) preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish speaker) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Provide safety training and educational programs to employees to promote a culture of safety.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to EHS.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk assessments, safe work practices, and emergency response plans.
  • Monitor and manage environmental impact, ensuring the company adheres to sustainability and waste reduction goals.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies as needed to ensure compliance and address potential issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process safety improvements in production, operations, and quality.
  • Collaborate with department managers and teams to implement improvement projects and track their success.
  • Develop metrics to measure progress on Safety improvement initiatives and regularly report on outcomes.
