Site Services at Genentech is seeking a Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Senior Specialist to support operations at our Roche Innovation Center Philadelphia (RICP). The EHS Specialist ensures Genentech’s operational integrity and upholds our culture of proactive prevention and innovative problem-solving. This position is based in Philadelphia, PA with a majority of time spent on-site. This position reports to the Director, Site Environmental & EHS Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3–7 years of industry experience.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Solid knowledge of GxP compliance and industry standards.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage stakeholders, lead committees, and deliver effective training.
  • Organization: Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as CDC, NIH, and BMBL standards.

  • Preferred certifications: CSP, RBP, CIH.

Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Develop and manage EHS programs with low-to-moderate risk, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and strategic goals.
  • Risk Management: Conduct EHS risk assessments and execute the RICP EHS Change/Risk Management program with team collaboration.
  • Training: Create and update EHS training materials, monitor completion rates, and improve effectiveness in supported business units.
  • Incident Management: Support investigations, track records, and assist with annual OSHA log reporting and regulatory submissions.
  • CAPA, Audits, and Inspections: Manage corrective action software, track program compliance, and perform routine inspections for low to medium-risk areas.
  • Compliance and Permitting: Manage regulatory filings, permit applications, and other EHS requirements to maintain site compliance.
  • Emergency Response: Represent EHS to support disaster response, recovery, and business continuity as needed.
  • Metrics and KPIs: Develop and track metrics to measure program effectiveness, adoption, cost, and risk, driving continuous improvement.
