About The Position

Crusoe is seeking an experienced and proactive DC Operations & Deployments EHS Safety Manager to join our expanding team. This new role, based in our San Francisco office, will be an integral member of the Global Safety Pillar, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Global Safety, supporting deployments, data center operations, and R&D projects. You will be crucial in establishing and continuously improving HSE performance, processes, and culture throughout our physical infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of safety programs combined with exceptional communications and collaboration skills to drive safety initiatives. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7+ years of relevant HSE experience is required.
  • Proven technical knowledge of various HSE rules and regulations at both the Federal and State levels.
  • Direct experience with the implementation of HSE rules, regulations, policies, and procedures is a must.
  • Experience with electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA70E/OSHA30)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Excellent computer skills for documentation, reporting, and utilizing HSE management systems.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without requiring sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • While a university degree is preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience supporting HSE programs within a data center, cloud infrastructure, or R&D environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, or OHST.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations impacting data center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated safety oversight for active deployments and operational data centers, serving as the primary safety point of contact for internal teams and external contractors
  • Assess risks to workers, making recommendations and developing action plans to reduce risk as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement various HSE processes, including Right to Know policies and Hazard Communication programs to support a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Monitor compliance with all federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures. You will also monitor and report on HSE objectives and metrics, ensuring that HSE is an integral part of Management discussions, objectives, and priorities.
  • Facilitate thorough incident investigations and lead root cause analysis efforts following any failures, incidents, or accidents. You will actively monitor and follow up on the status of corrective actions, reports, and audits.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of HSE awareness and culture through communications, training, and promoting active involvement in HSE programs. You will coordinate and actively participate in the HSE training of personnel.
  • Liaise effectively with local contractors, clients, local agencies and air quality boards regarding HSE issues, ensuring open and clear communication.
  • Ensure that the relevant HSE documentation such as MSDS/SDS folders are meticulously maintained, up to date and readily available at the worksites.
