About The Position

The primary purpose of the EHS Safety summer intern is to learn about key components of safety measures and occupational health requirements and engage in EHS-related projects.

Requirements

• Pursuing a four-year degree in either Environmental Science, Studies, Health, Engineering, or Sustainability, OR a related science degree (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Environmental Education).
• Microsoft office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and Access)
• Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time (up to 1 hour), use standard office equipment, work outdoors, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (hard toe safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, and hearing protection)
• All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work and/or internship experience in a science field is ideal, but not required
• knowledge of coding and Canva is a plus
• Facilitate ergonomics assessments (recording)
• Conduct IP address mapping of all safety devices and interlocks (DX Meta Factory)
• Mapping fire system trouble alarms
• Conduct trending industrial hygiene data

Responsibilities

• Work on safety and occupational health components within the Integrated Management System
• Assist with tasks during HQ EHS/Infrastructure and internal ISO audits
• Assist with regulatory evaluation and reporting requirements
• Monitor for EHS key performance indicators
• Assist with materials management for the Hazard Communication Program
• Assist with develop training materials and communication materials
