About The Position

This internship focuses on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) responsibilities within a manufacturing environment. The intern will assist with safety inspections, audits, and observations, support incident investigations, and help update safety documentation. Environmental tasks include assisting with waste management, recycling, and spill prevention. The role also involves supporting EHS systems and data management, including data entry, audits, and report preparation. A key component of the internship is completing one or more defined EHS improvement projects and presenting the outcomes to site leadership. The internship is designed to provide professional development, networking opportunities, and hands-on experience in EHS manufacturing projects.

Requirements

  • Junior or senior enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program such as Safety Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or Industrial Safety.
  • Pursuing a degree in safety or a similar technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with safety inspections, audits, and observations (BOS, hazard identification, housekeeping, PPE).
  • Support incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action tracking in Intelex.
  • Help update Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), SOPs, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee engagement activities.
  • Support machine guarding, LOTO, ergonomics, and pedestrian safety initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist with environmental compliance tasks such as waste management, recycling, and spill prevention activities.
  • Support recordkeeping for environmental permits, inspections, and routine compliance tasks.
  • Help track environmental KPIs and task completion (e.g., inspections, logs).
  • Support data entry, audits, and action tracking in Intelex and Power BI dashboards.
  • Assist with document control and EHS training records.
  • Help prepare EHS reports, presentations, and visual management materials.
  • Complete one or more defined EHS improvement projects (e.g., near-miss program enhancement, ergonomic assessment support, safety communication tools, environmental task optimization).
  • Present project outcomes and recommendations to site leadership at the end of the internship.
