About The Position

As the EHS&S Specialist, you will lead all aspects of environmental, health, safety, and security programs for the Riverside, California facility, which supports machining and assembly operations across two shifts. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies while helping create and maintain a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible workplace. In this role, you will partner with site leadership, employees, and corporate stakeholders to implement enterprise initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and support operational objectives. You will serve as a key resource on compliance, risk management, incident prevention, emergency preparedness, and site security. This opportunity offers meaningful ownership of site-wide EHS&S programs and the ability to influence operational performance, compliance, and employee safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in an industrial environmental, health, and safety function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, safety, and security regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience applying machine guarding requirements within manufacturing or automated equipment environments.
  • Experience applying lockout/tagout regulations across a variety of equipment and operational processes.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply environmental and safety regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Experience developing and delivering employee training programs.
  • Strong communication, recordkeeping, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and drive EHS&S objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and apply resourceful problem-solving techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting machining and assembly operations is preferred.
  • Spanish language proficiency is highly preferred to effectively communicate and deliver training to a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and administration of environmental, health, safety, and security programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements.
  • Conduct routine safety, environmental, and security inspections and audits; identify gaps; implement corrective actions; and verify resolution through follow-up activities.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and ensure timely execution of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze EHS&S metrics, reports, and facility data to identify trends, measure performance, and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate EHS&S training programs, including topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, hazardous waste management, and storm water management.
  • Serve as the site resource for EHS&S compliance, personnel and asset safety, emergency action planning, and security-related matters.
  • Manage regulatory agency inspections and maintain readiness for regulatory reviews and audits.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to plant personnel on environmental, health, safety, ergonomic, and security matters.
  • Collaborate with corporate and cross-functional teams to support enterprise EHS&S initiatives, promote consistency across locations, and share best practices.
  • Review capital projects and contractor activities to ensure compliance with applicable environmental and safety requirements.
  • Provide regular EHS&S performance updates, metrics, and initiative status reports to site leadership.
  • Support pollution prevention, resource efficiency, and continuous improvement efforts across facility operations.
