About The Position

The EHS Manager will manage all safety and environmental programs, including incident investigation, the peer-to-peer safety program, audits, and training requirements for the facility. This role involves performing workplace audits, assisting with incident investigations, serving as a health and safety resource for co-workers, managing facility safety and environmental programs, and overseeing the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) to ensure compliance with OSHA regulatory standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and speak English concisely.
Ability to communicate verbally and written with all levels of management and other employees.
Strong analytical skills.
Working knowledge and use of office equipment.
Strong communication skills to include clear and concise English skills.
Prior working knowledge of safety and environmental systems.
Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and Environmental regulatory standards.
Ability to obtain a OSHA 30hr, First Aid/AED/CPR, Powered Industrial Truck (Forklift)/Power Industrial Platform Train the Trainer, and Environmental Specialist Certification within 12 months of hire.
Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform or coordinate monthly/annual workplace audits, including office, administrative, and specialized facilities.
Conduct monthly combustible dust inspections and annual Electrical Device audits.
Coordinate annual drills (Tornado, Fire, Spill) and report results.
Coordinate annual PPE Boot/Shoe Mobile and hearing testing.
Assist with the investigation of work-related injuries and Safety GTDs using the 5Y methodology.
Report investigation results to the Plant Manager, QEHS Manager, and/or Human Resources.
Serve as a health and safety resource for co-workers, disseminating EH&S information and promoting a positive safety culture.
Act as a liaison with GFH safety programs and attend morning Solution Zone meetings.
Manage all facility safety and environmental programs, including posting safety information, conducting daily safety walks, and sending monthly safety reports.
Schedule and facilitate monthly safety training and safety committee meetings.
Assign, collect, graph, and report monthly zone safety inspections.
Maintain the online SDS system for the facility.
Assist with writing facility JSAs and coordinate Hazard Assessments for new processes and materials.
Conduct safety training for new hire orientation and coordinate/conduct training for forklift, powered work platform, and fall protection.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental inspections.
Assist with the monthly employee safety observation program.
Manage the facility Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).
Ensure facility compliance with all OSHA regulatory standards.
Assist in creating the VPP certification roadmap and ensure it is adhered to.
