This role is for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager who will report to the Site Director and be responsible for initiating and performing all activities supporting environmental, safety, and security initiatives. The manager will oversee all site employees involved in EH&S activities, including environmental, health, and safety oversight, safety mentoring, and fostering a safe and healthy work environment. This position does not currently sponsor visas or consider international movement.

Requirements

  • Solid background in global Health and Safety, particularly within supply chain operations of multinational businesses.
  • Deep understanding of international Health and Safety regulations applicable to the supply chain context.
  • Successful track record in rolling out Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities and a history of influencing positive change within global teams.
  • Skilled communicator with robust problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Four year college degree preferably in Environmental & Safety but not required.
  • At least five to eight years of experience as an environmental/safety professional or similar background is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety assessments and audits, including the resolution and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Manage hazard identification, analysis, and control programs.
  • Participate in the initiation phase of equipment installation and setup to ensure safety, health, ergonomic, and environmental principles are incorporated into the design.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures, setting standards for accountability.
  • Maintain and update procedures, and develop training materials to support EH&S programs.
  • Promote employee awareness of EH&S through training and facility-wide communication.
  • Develop and implement proactive EH&S programs and performance measurement programs (audits, metrics), tracking and reporting progress.
  • Create and facilitate EH&S teams or committees to meet safety objectives.
  • Provide expert technical assistance to the department and business units.
  • Participate in and represent Reckitt Benckiser in internal and external EH&S working groups, committees, and conferences.
  • Build effective relationships with the corporate EH&S network to ensure system consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to health, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and assist during regulatory inspections.
  • Stay informed about developments in federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws.
  • Develop and manage an accident and injury investigation program.
  • Manage the workers' compensation program and associated costs.
  • Review and interpret data from accident and loss event reports to identify causes, trends, and relationships, initiating investigations as appropriate.
  • Establish target areas and long-range accident risk reduction and cost control objectives.
