About The Position

The EHS Manager will own and execute EHS strategies that align with corporate objectives and aspirations. This role will utilize leading and lagging KPI metrics to drive EHS performance and be responsible for reporting and communication of EHS results, key initiatives, and action plans to key stakeholders at all levels within the organization. The EHS Manager will partner and collaborate with the Heinz Legal and Communications Department regarding incidents that could jeopardize our people, plant, and/or brands. This role requires staying abreast of applicable EHS legislation and practices that impact the factory, developing and managing the department's EHS financial budget, and engaging, partnering, and enrolling various teams and individuals across the factory shopfloor and corporate personnel in the EHS journey. The EHS Manager will ensure the site adheres to applicable Kraft Heinz policies/procedures, processes, and operating principles, revising and evolving policies and/or procedures as necessary. This role drives continuous improvement, capability, and culture across the plant towards best-in-class performance and a zero-incident mindset, implementing Kraft Heinz EHS Management Systems and Best Practices as designed. Additionally, the EHS Manager will provide training to staff and employees to ensure all recognize their role in supporting the KH journey, ensure compliance with all EHS legislation and regulatory bodies (inclusive of Federal, State, and local requirements), and develop and maintain new and current processes and tools to ensure sustained compliance with all Federal, State, and local EHS regulations. The role also includes facilitating the Workers’ Compensation process with diligence if/as required and benchmarking best practices internally and externally, applying learnings and insights with pace into own operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in safety and environmental management is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA , EPA Regulations, DOT Regulations and Management Systems (i.e., ISO 14001, Safety Management Systems)
  • Continuous Improvement Principles and Practices
  • Knowledge of State and Federal rules/regulations such as EEO, FDA, & USDA
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to partner and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to grow with the organization and commit to “doing what it takes” to attain aggressive organizational objectives
  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment, problem solving and decision- making skills
  • Proven ability to lead change initiatives
  • Ability to engage, coach and develop others

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent is preferred
  • Prior experience with Process Safety Management and Risk Management programs preferred
  • Professional designations such as a Certified Hazard Control Manager (CHCM), 30 hour OSHA Certified, Certification in Ergonomics, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Associate Safety professional (ASP) is preferred
