About The Position

Spreetail is seeking an EHS Manager for its fulfillment center in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is an onsite role, five days per week, and an individual-contributor position responsible for both the strategy and hands-on execution of safety programs. The manager will build a proactive safety culture, maintain compliance, and ensure programs are audit-ready. The role has no dedicated Safety Supervisors and requires a consistent presence on the warehouse floor to conduct walk-throughs, lead incident investigations, deliver training, and personally execute safety work across the fulfillment center. The position owns injury metrics, OSHA recordkeeping and investigations, safety training completion, monthly audits, emergency preparedness, and workers’ compensation processes. It partners with Operations and P&C to identify root causes, complete corrective and preventive actions, maintain training and emergency readiness across shifts, and reduce claim costs.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of safety or EHS experience in roles of progressive responsibility.
  • Formal or extensive regulatory experience, including ownership of OSHA 300 logs, complaint response, and onsite regulatory support.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift operations, including night and weekend shifts.
  • Direct experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Proven ability to own and execute integrated safety programs independently, without Safety Supervisor support.
  • Comfort spending a significant portion of every shift on the warehouse floor and working onsite five days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an OSHA 1910 General Industry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own ORIR and LTI metrics, keeping rates at or below industry benchmarks for warehouse and e-fulfillment operations; partner with Operations on root causes and drive corrective and preventive actions to completion.
  • Accurately document and thoroughly investigate each OSHA recordable, engage Operations, and close corrective actions on time.
  • Partner with P&C to maintain new-hire and PIT training completion at or above 95% across associates and departments, ensuring onboarding safety training is completed before a new hire’s first shift on the floor.
  • Conduct and score monthly safety audits, track open items through closure, and achieve quarter-over-quarter improvement in audit results.
  • Keep emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first-aid resources current and posted, and conduct regular drills across all shifts.
  • Report workers’ compensation claims on time, use modified-duty programs, and reduce claim costs.
  • Maintain a significant presence on the warehouse floor, conducting walk-throughs, investigations, and training.
