About The Position

The EHS Manager Manages and directs the plant’s safety, health and environmental programs. The Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager provides professional leadership and direction for the plant by using industry best practices. The EH&S Manager is responsible for compliance of safety, health and environmental programs, and coordination between operations, support groups, and senior leadership. The role embraces a strong commitment to safety as a core value and ensures compliance with all applicable Federal/State Regulations and US Silica EHS practices and procedures. This position works with a minimal amount of supervision and works approximately 60 percent of the time out in the plant environment. The EHS Coordinator will work closely with all levels of the plant and corporate organizations and will need to work before internal and external groups. This position requires some travel and a flexible work schedule. It is very important that he/she is able to respond effectively to emergency situations. This position is an important component of the overall plant succession planning strategy. Once fully trained in essential job duties/functions, the EHS Manager will be cross trained with the other site managers. The expectation is that the incumbent will be a competent and capable backfill to the other positions in a reasonable amount of time.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for compliance of safety, health and environmental programs, and coordination between operations, support groups, and senior leadership.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal/State Regulations and US Silica EHS practices and procedures.
  • Effective and organized record-keeping of all personnel training files.
  • Prepare and submit MSHA reports.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with USS requirements.
  • Prepare and submit state regulatory reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant permit parameters and requirements.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Cross trained with other site managers once fully trained in essential job duties/functions.
