The EHS Leader is responsible for ensuring employee compliance with the company's safety and environmental systems through an auditing program. This role involves EH&S incident investigation and reporting, leading site EH&S training, and monitoring, maintaining, and developing Company Safety and Environmental programs. The position serves as the primary contact for environmental regulatory issues with Toronto Water and MECP, handles community concerns, and is the main contact for the Fire Department, owning the fire protection plan. Responsibilities also include coordinating employee safety and JHSC meetings, managing KPIs related to environmental issues, managing the effluent treatment system with a hands-on approach, and overseeing hazardous waste, waste, and recycling disposal contractors. The role requires staying up-to-date on all Federal, Provincial, and Municipal reporting requirements, including wastewater spill reporting, CHEMTRAX, NPRI, and EASR reporting. Additionally, the EHS Leader manages building security and updates internal communications. This position offers the capability for a hybrid work schedule.
