About The Position

Valence Surface Technologies is currently seeking motivated and detail-oriented interns to join our team at our Lynwood, CA facility. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, aerospace-focused manufacturing environment. An internship or full-time opportunity with VST allows you to gain on-the-job, supervised training. Selected individuals will be involved in various aspects of Quality, EHS, and Operations—from procurement to distribution—enabling you to develop practical skills and industry knowledge while receiving mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or have recently completed an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Technical Certificate in a relevant field (Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Business Administration, Human Resources)
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and/or data visualization tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Employment eligibility verification required at time of hire
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee)

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with workplace safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Support the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures
  • Help track and maintain safety records, training logs, and compliance documentation
  • Participate in incident investigations and help identify root causes
  • Assist in coordinating safety training and employee awareness programs
  • Conduct research on OSHA and environmental regulations as needed
  • Support environmental programs such as waste management, recycling, and sustainability initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality and Operations teams on process improvements
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
