About The Position

The EHS Field Coordinator supports compliance with federal, state, local, client, and company environmental, health, and safety requirements and helps build and sustain a strong safety culture. The role partners with operations, project teams, and field personnel to integrate safety into planning, fabrication, and work execution. It requires regulatory knowledge, field presence, and effective communication across the organization. The position supports EHS compliance at the Houston fabrication shop, warehouse, and office, as well as active field operations, construction sites, and project locations. It conducts inspections and risk assessments, supports EHS programs and training, and assists with incident investigations and corrective actions. The role is based in Houston, Texas, is non-exempt, and reports to the Safety Director.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Associate degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

MSHA Certification.
Experience supporting field operations, construction, fabrication, or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Mentor and interact with employees at all levels to promote a positive safety culture.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, client, and company EHS requirements, and guide supervisors, management, and employees on regulatory and company policy expectations.
Implement EHS policies, procedures, and routine inspection schedules; maintain required EHS programs, records, and documentation.
Review EHS policies, programs, and procedures for effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with operational needs, and recommend improvements where gaps are identified.
Identify opportunities to improve EHS programs, systems, and processes, and communicate safety findings, trends, and recommendations to management.
Exercise stop-work authority when conditions present immediate risk to employees, contractors, or the environment.
Assist with employee safety onboarding and schedule project-specific and regulatory-required training; keep the company training compliance calendar current and accurate.
Support EHS compliance in the Houston fabrication shop, warehouse, and office; conduct facility inspections and support shop-specific programs, procedures, and inspection schedules.
Partner with Houston shop supervision and operations to integrate safety into fabrication planning and execution.
Support onboarding and ensure Houston-based employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements are current.
Provide EHS support to active field operations, construction sites, and project locations; conduct job-site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Develop, review, and support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and project-specific risk assessments.
Support incident reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action follow-up for field and project-related incidents.
Develop and track corrective action plans through completion.
Monitor leading and lagging safety indicators to identify trends and proactively reduce risk across field operations.
Coordinate and support client onboarding requirements related to EHS compliance.
Work cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and clients to integrate safety into field planning, execution, and project delivery.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
