About The Position

The EHS Engineer is responsible for the implementation and management of the Company’s safety and workers compensation programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA and all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements. This role involves analyzing work environments, designing programs to control hazards, developing safety policies and training, and managing workers' compensation cases.

Requirements

  • Analysis of work environments.
  • Design of programs to control, eliminate, and prevent disease and injury.
  • Conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Development of safety policies, training programs, and materials.
  • Tracking training requirements and certifications.
  • Preparation and maintenance of safety records (training, accident/near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, safety audits, walk-through reports, etc.).
  • Liaison with government agencies.
  • Coordination of medical management of Workers Compensation cases.
  • Acquisition of return-to-work documentation.
  • Coordination of modified duty strategies.
  • Management of personal protective equipment (PPE) distribution.
  • Conducting fire and emergency evacuation drills.
  • Chairing the Safety Committee and conducting monthly meetings.
  • Conducting new-hire employee safety orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes work environments and designs programs to control, eliminate and prevent disease and injury by conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Develops safety policies, training programs and materials, tracks training requirements and certifications.
  • Prepares and maintains all safety records including training, accident and near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, safety audits and walk-through reports and other documentation.
  • Acts as liaison with government agencies.
  • Coordinates the medical management of Workers Compensation cases, acquiring return-to-work documentation and coordinating modified duty strategies.
  • Manages distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conducts periodic fire and emergency evacuation drills.
  • Chairs the Safety Committee and conducts monthly meetings.
  • Conducts new-hire employee safety orientation.
  • Performs additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
