EHS Engineer I

This role will assist with routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, documenting findings and communicating results to a supervisor. The engineer will support incident investigations by collecting data and documenting facts in accordance with OSHA and CG Global EHS requirements. They will help maintain EHS records, including training logs, SDS, permits, and compliance reports. The position involves participating in safety training material development, assisting with new associate onboarding and recurring compliance training, and ensuring proper training documentation. The engineer will also assist with job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments, supporting risk level reduction planning. They will monitor basic compliance activities such as PPE usage, housekeeping standards, and safety signage visibility. Environmental program support includes waste management, recycling tracking, and hazardous materials handling. The role involves tracking corrective actions and following up on their completion status, assisting in coordinating emergency response drills and training, and auditing the condition and availability of emergency response equipment. Additionally, the engineer will support the end-to-end workers' compensation claims process, including incident documentation, root-cause analysis, recordkeeping, and return-to-work coordination. They will utilize MS Office and analytical skills to prepare EHS reports and metrics. The position requires compliance with health and safety guidelines and rules, protecting Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential, and maintaining professional and technical knowledge. The engineer will contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field
1+ years of experience in a related position
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations on Health, Safety, and Environmental protection
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related applications

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
EHS experience in an approved Safe Industry program
Experience in a manufacturing environment or around manufacturing processes
ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 awareness
Basic knowledge of SAP
Basic knowledge of work environment measurement equipment

Responsibilities
