About The Position

This position oversees EHS for NPAA in Lansing, IL, Chattanooga, TN and Cleveland, OH. The position oversees origination compliance with federal, state, and local environment, health, and safety regulations. The position will set standards, develop strategic plans and implement processes to ensure compliance to the ISO14001 Management System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field required
  • 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • 5 – 10 years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local health & safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.)
  • Must have proven success in project management and ability to implement business process improvements affecting multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local OSHA and EPA rules and regulations
  • Establish and promote programs which maintain a safe, incident free and healthy work environment
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices
  • Oversees audits at both facilities to ensure compliance to established EHS policy and procedures
  • Investigates and recommends courses of action for occupational incidents or illnesses
  • Conducts risk assessments to detect potential hazards and ensure measures are implemented to mitigate risks
  • Plan and direct the ISO14001 Environmental Management System and OSHA VPP STAR Program.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of current programs, policies, and procedures on an annual basis and rives continuous improvement
  • Understand, analyze impact, and communicate changing EHS requirements to executive committee
  • Ensures all related permits and licenses are up to date, including CAAPP Title V, Tier II reports, Form R
  • Direct Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPP) and Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) programs, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste programs
  • Represent the Environmental Health & Safety during regulatory inspections and/or audits as required
  • Prepare and submit all required incident notifications.
  • Serves as facility contact for federal, state and regional environmental health and safety agencies.
  • Notify applicable governmental regulatory agencies and authorities as appropriate
  • Provide operational compliance oversight in all matters related to workplace safety, incident and injury prevention, occupation health, environmental compliance, environmental sustainability, and facilities safety. This includes review of capital projects and introduction of new raw materials for environmental impact
  • Oversight of DHS program
  • Ensures alignment of NPAA to NPAC’s Environmental, Health, and Safety vision
