About The Position

Orafol America's in Wallingford CT is seeking a full-time experienced EHS Coordinator/Facilities Maintenance candidate. Typical work hours are 7 AM-3:30 PM Monday -Friday. Pay range of $38 per hour-$46 per hour commensurate with experience to start. The EHS Coordinator/Facilities Maintenance at ORAFOL Americas Inc is responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient working environment by managing environmental, health, and safety programs, as well as overseeing the maintenance and functionality of the company's facilities. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety and compliance, while also ensuring that the physical infrastructure supports business operations effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience in facilities maintenance and management, including oversight of building systems and equipment.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using EHS management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train and guide team members in EHS practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling programs, and sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building upkeep.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist in emergency response planning and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
  • Provide support in budget planning for EHS and facilities maintenance activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
