About The Position

Arcadis is currently seeking an early career Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Dallas, TX office. This exciting opportunity will allow you to support a growing base of health and safety, EHS regulatory compliance, auditing, permitting and sustainability-related projects. This role supports a theme park client and will require overnight fieldwork once the park opens—typically beginning about one hour after park close (around 9:00 PM) and running into the early morning (approximately 5:00 AM) for the first 3–4 months to develop and validate lockout/tagout procedures without interrupting operations. Candidates should be prepared for possible overtime and site travel. Occasional night shifts may recur as new attractions are commissioned. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to interface directly with clients to ensure on-time and satisfactory performance. You will also engage in the preparation of high-quality project reports and deliverables, allowing you to showcase your skills and expertise. As part of our Resilience Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life. Your work could involve a variety of environmental health and safety projects such electrical safety procedure development, environmental permitting / reporting support, environmental compliance audits and safety investigations, chemical inventory assessments and a variety of environmental compliance projects with a broad spectrum of clients in Texas.

Requirements

  • Health and safety focused and follow client H&S requirements.
  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts and/or Bachelor of Engineering degree (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering; Environmental Science; Occupational Health and Safety) or a college/university transcript providing demonstrated equivalent coursework.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of relevant work or internship experience in the EHS field.
  • Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations. (OSHA program basic knowledge is a plus).
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with Environmental, health, and safety compliance projects and providing ad-hoc compliance support.
  • Conducting inspections, investigations, safety observations, job safety analysis and risk assessments and mitigation actions that will identify, evaluate and control unsafe health & safety hazards or risks.
  • Environmental reporting support (Tier II, Biennial Hazardous and Residual Waste Reporting, etc.).
  • Air permitting and compliance support.
  • Hazardous waste management support (program development, characterization and profiling, waste vendor selection and audits, etc.).
  • Ability to create detailed Excel spreadsheets based on permit requirements, audit results, or other tasks.
  • Assist in building client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to exceed their expectations.
  • Perform other client-specific EHS-related duties as needed.
