If so, we would love to have you on our team! The Accelerated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Representative Designate role is designed as a 12-24 month leadership development program. The role is designed to assimilate and develop the necessary skillset in preparation for an accelerated career path as a PepsiCo EHS Leader. Through this program, you may be required to relocate to another location as openings become available for career progression. About the Role: This field-based role is located in Charlotte, NC and reports to the PFUS Supply Chain Atlantic Region EHS Sr. Manager, while working closely with the Charlotte EHS Manager. The role is intended for an EHS professional with a strong foundational background and approximately 2-3 years of experience who is ready to develop deeper PepsiCo EHS capability, leadership effectiveness, and operational influence. During the 12-24 month program, the EHS Representative Designate will support the execution of the PFUS Supply Chain EHS Annual Operating Plan (AOP), learn and apply PepsiCo EHS policies and systems, and build practical leadership experience through hands-on involvement in site EHS programming, risk reduction, compliance, training, incident investigation, and performance improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience preferred, ideally in manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, distribution, or a related operational environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements and risk management practices, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local requirements.
  • Basic understanding of core EHS processes such as incident investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action management, audits, inspections, training, and management of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, apply technical knowledge in an operational setting, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to engage frontline employees, supervisors, and site leadership.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capability, including the ability to review EHS data, identify trends, and support practical action plans.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across operations, maintenance, HR, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Professional maturity, sound judgment, and willingness to receive coaching, feedback, and development support as part of an accelerated leadership program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to travel as needed for development, regional support, site visits, and future placement readiness; relocation may be required as openings become available for career progression.

Nice To Haves

  • Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical field preferred.
  • Professional EHS certification or progress toward certification preferred, such as GSP, ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or related credential.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of the PFUS Supply Chain EHS Annual Operating Plan (AOP) by learning PepsiCo EHS expectations, tools, processes, and leadership routines.
  • Partner with the Charlotte EHS Manager and site leadership to implement EHS programs, strengthen compliance, and support daily operational risk reduction.
  • Develop working knowledge of PepsiCo EHS policies, regulatory requirements, and management systems, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local requirements.
  • Participate in site risk assessments, inspections, audits, and program reviews to identify hazards, evaluate controls, and support timely corrective action closure.
  • Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action development to reduce repeat events and improve prevention capability.
  • Assist with EHS training, communication, and capability-building activities for frontline teams, supervisors, and functional leaders.
  • Analyze EHS performance data to identify trends, priority gaps, and opportunities to improve safety and environmental performance.
  • Support implementation of site EHS programs, including Program Owner processes, management of change reviews, emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, and high-risk activity controls.
  • Build leadership capability by engaging with operations, maintenance, HR, engineering, and other cross-functional partners to embed EHS expectations into daily work.
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership by modeling Courage to Care behaviors, coaching safe work practices, and reinforcing accountability at all levels.
  • Complete assigned development experiences, mentoring activities, and field-based learning to prepare for future placement into an EHS Manager role.
  • Travel as needed to support development, regional initiatives, site visits, and future placement readiness; relocation may be required as openings become available for career progression.
