About The Position

This position contributes to the success of Pepsi Beverages North America (PBNA) by ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, and DOT), accident prevention and after injury management. This person will work to support implementation of the EHS Management System at the Indianapolis, IN Gatorade manufacturing location. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in employee safety and environmental regulations as well as have OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance experience and be highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained EHS performance improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or High school diploma with 3-5 years of EHS work experience
  • OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance experience
  • Subject matter expert in employee safety and environmental regulations
  • Highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained EHS performance improvements

  • EHS management experience in a related industry, including consumer packaged goods, distribution/transportation, manufacturing or grocery industry
  • Knowledge and experience with EHS Management systems and their deployment
  • EHS auditing work experience
  • Understands and can articulate EHS regulations

Responsibilities

  • Deploying, implementing, and leading the EHS agenda by supporting the location manufacturing teams with integration of safety and environmental programs, Workers' Compensation, prevention efforts, and regulatory compliance into everyday work life.
  • Analyzing accident data and developing and implementing actionable safety/environmental solutions.
  • Providing collaborative, proactive, and creative problem-solving abilities to develop best-in-class EHS programs for the improvement of the overall strategy and EHS management system.
  • Ensuring that the site complies with Environmental Health and Safety Legislation and operates within the internal Global Environmental, Health and Safety Management System.
  • Providing expert guidance on all safety and environment related matters and giving information, advice and coaching on relevant legislation and internal EHS systems and reinforcement of site standards.
  • Owning multiple standards across the Health and Safety model, including Incident Investigation and Risk Assessment, and providing regular coaching to other standard Duty Holders.
  • Being an active member of a site EHS committee team and an active participant in the daily and weekly process.
  • Assisting the site Management Team and Standard Holders to meet the site targets of risk management and accident reduction and driving a proactive safety culture through effective communications and continuous improvement.
  • Partnering with operations leaders to conduct effective investigations and develop sustainable plans to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Supporting change management projects to ensure safety is designed in and projects are safely executed.
