Requirements

1-2 years of applicable experience
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Ontario Grade 12 Equivalency program
Diploma in Environmental, Health, and Safety programs (excluding JHSC)
Demonstrated capability to display and advocate for environmental, health, and safety principles
Technology competence
High comfort level in interacting with employees
JHSC certificate

Nice To Haves

EHS related experience
Understanding of EHS policies and practices
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Capability to collaborate successfully within a team setting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Adaptability to changing priorities
Ability to perform effectively despite frequent interruptions
Intermediate level MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

Support a safe working environment by conducting assessments, investigations, and data collection.
Work closely with the team to successfully implement EHS initiatives and improvements.
Schedule safety training for new hires, lead Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) activities, and coordinate safety drills.
Prepare and distribute EHS-related documentation, coordinate waste pickups, and prioritize plant EHS events.
Maintain and coordinate EHS documents efficiently.
