About The Position

Flex is seeking a proactive, experienced, and hands-on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all EHS Management Systems at their facility in Austin, TX. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, compliant, and a high-performance workplace. The EH&S Manager will partner closely with Operations, Facilities, HR, and Corporate and peer EHS groups to drive a strong safety culture, reduce risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. The position reports to the Director, EH&S and will provide immediate supervision for the implementation of complex activities related to the efficient management of Environmental Health & Safety programs in offices and manufacturing sites to ensure company and government standards and regulations are met. This role will support SpinCo, a new independent company focused on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications, following a planned spin-off in Q1 2027.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environment or Health Sciences or equivalent experience in EH&S and knowledge of related regulations, codes, and guidelines.
  • +7 years of related experience in EH&S or related position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance requirements.
  • Conduct meetings involving environmental safety, training and awareness programs.
  • Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance and act as advisor to unit, or sub-units and get involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems.
  • Establish and recommend changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s).
  • Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers and/or functional peer group managers.
  • Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
  • Manage budget and schedule for moderately complex EH&S activities, including costs of contract labor, equipment and materials.
  • Train staff on any changes to policy and procedures.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site EHS programs, including OSHA compliance, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Hazard Communication, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Emergency Response, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Contractor safety.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, state AED requirements, etc.).
  • Maintains required documentation, permits, and records.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training for employees, supervisors, and contractors.
  • Facilitate EHS Committee meetings, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, hazard reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Track and analyze EHS metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation cases.
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Partner with operations to integrate safety into equipment design, process changes, and new projects.
  • Oversee environmental programs, including waste management, air emissions, stormwater, and chemical storage.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and reporting requirements.
