Requirements

  • No prior experience or training required.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Safety work rules at all times and reinforce Safety as a Core Value.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed and complied with uniformly.
  • Monitor and remove any defective shell eggs found.
  • Monitor the breaking machine for inedible egg.
  • Rotate between two stations: Candler (removing damaged or defective shell eggs according to USDA specifications) and Breaking Machine Operator (removing inedible egg product by flipping a lever and diverting the inedible egg to a holding tank).
  • Determine if product meets proper specifications and take corrective action as needed.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is maintained to maintain SQF Quality Certification.
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
