The Final Inspector is responsible for inspecting cloth according to specified standards, flagging seams/splices, and cutting defects as required to make first quality rolls of fabric. This role involves tying in new rolls of cloth, pulling standards or production swatches for identification and shade verification, and ensuring rolls are wound straight without telescoping. The inspector also doffs full tubes, identifies them with tickets, and runs additional tickets as necessary. For second quality rolls, the inspector cuts out a 1-yard full-width example of the defect for the daily quality meeting and flags the roll as second quality. A swatch for the lab is obtained from every lot of fabric if not marked as “Testing Complete.” The role also requires maintaining good housekeeping, following safety procedures, and reporting any unsafe conditions to supervision. The position operates on the 2nd shift.
