About The Position

Foster Farms is hiring an Egg Gatherer at its Peach Valley breeders operation. The role involves gathering, sorting, cleaning, and stacking eggs, maintaining workrooms and ranch grounds, cleaning equipment and drinkers, and assisting with ranch cleanup between flocks. The position pays $18.00 per hour. The application window has no predetermined end date and will close once a qualified applicant is selected.

Requirements

• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Able to walk 1.5–5 miles per day.
• Able to step into and out of a gathering pit numerous times each day using steep stairs.
• Able to bend over and pick up eggs from the floor.
• Able to climb a 12-foot ladder.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Gather eggs from conveyor belts and walk floors and slats to find eggs and dead birds; walk houses 4–5 times daily and gather up to 13,600 eggs daily onto flats.
• Sort eggs by size, cleanliness, shape, and whether they are checked or cracked.
• Clean eggs as needed and stack flats.
• Clean workrooms and empty trash.
• Change dip pans daily by emptying the rectangular pan when it is half full of liquid and replacing the liquid.
• Help maintain and clean ranch grounds.
• Clean waters by lifting and dumping water, then scrubbing up to 160 drinkers per day.
• Clean ceiling lights.
• Transfer to other farms.
• Clean up the ranch between flocks, including routine heavy lifting and operating a high-pressure washer.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
