About The Position

The Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services leads housing, assisted living and continuing care, seniors, income, employment and homelessness supports, disability services, and other social-based programs. The Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services supports Albertans through a person-centred, integrated service delivery model. It provides access to essential programs such as Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP), Income Support (IS), Child Support Services (CSS), and other social-based services that promote dignity, independence, and inclusion for vulnerable individuals and families across Alberta. The Employment and Financial Services (EFS) division works to foster a society in which families are secure and resilient, individuals have safe, sustainable employment, vulnerable Albertans have the supports they require, and no one is left behind. Join the Employment and Financial Services (EFS) team and help drive data informed decision making that improves service delivery for Albertans. Reporting to the Manager, Statistics and Analytics (EFS North Zone), you will design and deliver analytics, tracking, reporting, and data solutions that support program integrity, operational planning, performance management, and continuous improvement. This role focuses heavily on data engineering, analytics, and solution development transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, scalable reporting tools, and custom business applications that improve service delivery across programs. You will work both independently and collaboratively with leadership and stakeholders, specifically the provincial Investigations and Program Integrity (IPI) team, to translate business needs into actionable insights and innovative tools.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree in a related field plus 2 years of progressively responsible related experience. Equivalencies will be considered as directly related education or experience based on 1 year of education for 1 year of experience or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting and communicating data.
  • Proficiency with analytics and collaboration tools (E.g., Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, Power Apps).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing applications or working with data modelling and vizualiztion.
  • Knowledge of government programs, policy context, or service delivery environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models, dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and performance metrics to support operations and planning.
  • Analyze complex data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build data visualizations and analytics solutions to communicate trends and performance insights.
  • Integrate and transform data from multiple sources into structured analytical models.
  • Lead testing, data validation, and data quality assurance processes.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Support projects, stakeholder engagement, and cross‑ministry collaboration.
