About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator to lead and manage all aspects of Equal Opportunity compliance across the department. In this pivotal role, you’ll advise leadership, investigate complaints of discrimination, ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, and promote a fair, respectful, and inclusive work environment. You'll also work closely with internal teams and external agencies, deliver impactful training, and guide policy development to ensure EEO standards are upheld. Regular travel to all complexes is required to build strong, collaborative relationships, foster trust, and support meaningful change initiatives. Requirements

  • Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations and procedures pertaining to personnel administration, ADOA Personnel Rules, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended, Arizona State government operation and structure/functions within ADCRR
  • Knowledge of personal computers and software, business English and proper grammar

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years experience working as an HR professional with a background in conducting workplace investigations, interpreting employment laws, and advising on complex employee relations issues, particularly within a government environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and recommendations to management/employees of employee-related issues, Including equal opportunity, ADA, FMLA, employee extended medical leave and chronic absenteeism.
  • Assembles meetings with management on extremely confidential employee matters dealing with employee equal opportunity matters
  • Provides guidance on department policies and procedures
  • Conducts EEO fact-finding investigations and prepares a comprehensive report with recommendations for management review and appropriate action
  • Reviews, revises, and/or composes professional correspondence
  • Conducts detailed research and review of policies, statutes, and investigations to ensure accurate information is contained within finalized letters, reports and correspondence
  • Monitors time frames to ensure policy adherence, maintains complex reports, and ensures documents are placed into the database
  • Develop and present training as needed and/or required regarding Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), ADA, FMLA, military leave and Departmental policies, etc.
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
