This role involves developing a knowledge and understanding of basic electronics, general anatomy and physiology, neuroanatomy and physiology, clinical neurophysiology, and neurophysiological diagnostic procedures and protocols. The EEG Technologist performs Electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings under direct or indirect supervision on adult and pediatric patients. As skill level increases, may perform complex neurophysiology procedures. The technologist acts as a liaison between the electroencephalographer, physicians, and senior technologists to coordinate, perform, or provide technical assistance during complex and highly technical procedures. With increased skill, may train new hires.
