About The Position

The electroneurodiagnostic Technologist performs electroneurodiagnostic procedures using established protocols and procedures in a clinical lab, inpatient, and epilepsy unit setting. Modalities include EEG, AEEG, EMU, Wada Testing, EP, NCV testing, ERG, and sEEG. Core Competencies Demonstrates the ability to collect pertinent data about the patient, procedure, equipment, and work environment. Demonstrates the ability to analyze the information obtained during the assessment phase and develop an action plan for completing the procedure. Demonstrates basic knowledge related to the use of protocols, procedures, and equipment. Demonstrate the ability to perform Neurodiagnostic exams safely and accurately with reliable information regarding the performance of equipment, materials, and processes. Demonstrates the ability to adjust protocols and procedures based on safe and effective practices. Demonstrates the ability to evaluate an exam or procedure that would meet all quality assurance standards. Demonstrates the ability to provide clear and precise documentation is essential for continuity of care, accuracy of care, and quality assurance. Demonstrates the ability to promote a positive and collaborative practice atmosphere with other healthcare team members. Expected to participate in professional organizations and scholarly activities such as research, scientific investigation, presentation, and publication to advance the profession. Advanced Competencies Performs and records one or more of the following procedures: EEG AEEG EMU NCV EP LTM EMU Autonomic Studies Knowledge and Competency Novice-level experience. Competent in routine studies. Working knowledge of technical standards, the scope of practice, department and health system policies, safety, and service standards. Working knowledge of neurodiagnostic software, instrumentation, and ancillary patient care equipment.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Novice-level experience.
  • Competent in routine studies.
  • Working knowledge of technical standards, the scope of practice, department and health system policies, safety, and service standards.
  • Working knowledge of neurodiagnostic software, instrumentation, and ancillary patient care equipment.
  • Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.

  • Applicants with EMT highly preferred.
