About The Position
The EEG Technician is an entry to mid-level position that performs EEG procedures according to department and Corewell Health policy and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of relevant experience Neurodiagnostic/EEG experience Required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
Nice To Haves
- Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient assessment as it relates to electrode fixation product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function.
- Knows and recognizes drug and physiological status effects on activity monitored.
- Electrode application and maintenance in adherence with the International 10-20 System.
- Knowledgeable in correct EEG equipment performance and recognition of clinically significant events.
- Basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting, artifact identification and elimination.
- Continues to learn and apply basic and intermediate EEG waveform recognition.
- All duties and responsibilities of neurodiagnostic assistant
