About The Position

To accurately perform and troubleshoot electroneurodiagnostics tests as ordered by a physician. To complete and perform appropriate documentation and charges associated with electronuerodiagnostic tests.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer associate degree from an AMA accredited institution or graduate of an approved EEG program
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Responsibilities

  • Performs electroencephalogram (EEG) on patients to get a recording of their brain activity through repeated cycles and notify the physician if anything appears wrong.
  • Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Obtain patient identification prior to performing the EEG.
  • Monitor patients' comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient.
  • Attach EEG leads to correct areas so that the reading can be performed appropriately.
  • Check, test and maintain EEG equipment, making any minor adjustments to ensure proper operation.
  • Ensure that test results are uploaded so that ordering physician is able to view.
  • Observe the recording to get acceptable test results for the provider to review and interpret.
