About The Position

This position involves skilled professional and technical work involving patient contact and the performance of various neurophysiological tests. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with established procedures. Performance requires good judgment and action in specific situations. Performs test on neonate, pediatric and adult patients.

Requirements

BLS trained according to AHA guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Registered EEG Technician preferred.
One to two years of experience working as an EEG Technician or in the health care field preferred.
Ability to tolerate the use of collodian and polish remover for short periods of time.

Responsibilities

Performs test on neonate, pediatric and adult patients.
Properly apply electrodes, and manipulate and troubleshoot equipment.
Elicit full patient cooperation in performance of tests and observing and handling people who may be apprehensive.
Follow verbal and written instructions and learn new equipment and procedures.
Relate to co-workers, nurses, physicians, and others in a professional and courteous manner.
Maintain professional confidences and earn the patient’s trust.
Learn and follow good infection control practices and have a thorough knowledge of universal precautions.
Push equipment outside of the lab, and learn and perform the proper technique of transporting, lifting, and moving patients.
Type 35-40 words per minute, and properly perform other clerical functions.
