About The Position
MelroseWakefield Hospital is seeking an experienced candidate to join our team in the role of a per diem EEG Tech- SEIU! This role is responsible for performing EEGs as requested by ordering physicians and for the routine operations and maintenance of the EEG Lab.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an approved course of study in Electroencephalography (EEG).
- One (1) year previous experience.
Nice To Haves
- Three (3) years previous experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs EEG studies in accordance with standard procedures and policies of the EEG Lab. The brain activity recordings are prepared for physician interpretation.
- Appropriately uses the 10-20 measure system and is able to appropriately select monopolar and bipolar montagues for reading.
- Reports gross abnormalities to the reading physician immediately.
- Performs EEGs brain death determination studies following prescribed procedures, when request.
- Able to identify artifact on tracing.
- Uses AIDET to explain procedure.
- Creates a calm and safe environment for patient testing.
- Appropriately prepares files for physician interpretation.
- Attends meetings as required.
