Learns and demonstrates procedures according to ACNS guidelines and department policy. Prepares patients for testing using the International 10-20 system of measurement and hookup. Ensures patient safety throughout testing and maintains a professional, courteous, and compassionate attitude. Performs quality recordings, confirms the accuracy of data entry, collects pertinent patient history, conducts examinations, and prepares recordings for physician interpretation. Informs the physician and/or supervisor of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormalities on the recording. Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care and ensures equipment is in good working condition. Documents and accurately charges for procedures to meet quality standards set by the department and hospital. Supports and contributes to department and hospital quality improvement initiatives and proactively initiates process improvement ideas. Adheres to hospital infection control and safety standards. Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information. Attends monthly staff meetings, record review sessions, educational sessions, and other required meetings. Plans and manages time appropriately, conserves hospital supplies, equipment, and resources, and performs additional duties as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
