About The Position

The EEG Tech I performs electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings for adult and pediatric patients under direct or indirect supervision, consistent with demonstrated competency. The role requires foundational knowledge of basic electronics, anatomy and physiology, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, clinical neurophysiology, and neurodiagnostic procedures and protocols. As knowledge and technical proficiency develop, the technologist may perform increasingly complex neurodiagnostic procedures. The role collaborates with electroencephalographers, physicians, advanced-practice providers, nurses, and senior technologists to coordinate studies and provide technical assistance during complex procedures in an academic medical center environment. The position performs EEG studies and related monitoring across laboratory, inpatient, outpatient, neonatal, intensive care, and operating room settings. It includes work across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, participation in an on-call rotation, and travel among designated hospital and outpatient locations. The technologist also supports laboratory safety, equipment maintenance, documentation, scheduling and billing activities, research when assigned, and ongoing clinical education.
