This growth allows us to welcome more individuals into our specialized, comfortable healing spaces. Requirements

  • Current Ohio RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school or certified Infection Control Practitioner.
  • Complete APIC EPI Course and Member of APIC within 30 days of hire

  • Previous infection control preferred

Responsibilities

  • Annually reviews and revises hospital infection control plan, implementing any necessary protocol for the following year.
  • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to conduct the antimicrobial stewardship program.
  • Educates and coaches staff on procedures and general information for current infections in the community, common infections of the healthcare industry, blood borne pathogens, and hand hygiene.
  • Instructs staff on CDC preventative measures on infection.
  • Ensure the hospital has flu vaccinations in a timely manner and monitors compliance for staff and patients.
  • Monitors the staff and patient PPD testing, ensuring accurate records are maintained and staff are being tested on a timely basis.
  • Monitors the facility’s needle sticks and creates preventative plans to eliminate accidents.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of infection control regulations of TJC, CMS, Medicaid, state and federal laws, and ensures the hospital’s compliance with such standards.
