This position is located in the Baton Rouge, LA Office of Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics. This role within the Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics directly reports to the Director of Research and Data Privacy and plays a key key role in supporting agency-wide compliance with student data privacy laws, regulations, policies, and security requirements. The Data Privacy Coordinator works closely with the Data Privacy Program Manager, agency leadership, and staff across the Louisiana Department of Education to promote responsible handling and protection of sensitive education data. The position is responsible for building and managing the infrastructure around privacy processes which include coordinating and monitoring agency data privacy training and compliance activities; maintaining accurate records of data-sharing agreements, data system access requests, and approvals; supporting privacy and security procedures; and helping ensure agency staff understand and follow applicable data privacy requirements. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information and multiple compliance activities simultaneously. The ideal person for this position would be someone who can build and manage an automated tracking system, monitor whether it is functioning correctly, identify problems, and improve the process.
