About The Position

The Day School at The Children’s Institute provides transformative educational experiences for students with complex needs through compassionate care, innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and individualized support. The Educational Supervisor plays a vital leadership role in shaping the future of specialized education while making a lasting impact on students, families, staff, and the broader community. This role provides leadership for the planning, implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of educational programming at The Day School. In partnership with the Executive Director of Education and Director of Education, this role strengthens instructional quality, ensures alignment with departmental and administrative policies and procedures, supports regulatory compliance, and promotes effective school operations, staff performance, and positive student outcomes.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university required.
Pennsylvania Certification as a Supervisor of Special Education or actively pursuing this certification required.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in special education, including demonstrated expertise in educational assessment and diagnostic practices, instructional program development, staff training, and the implementation of evidence-based educational practices.
Demonstrated experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams, coaching and developing professional staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that result in positive student outcomes.
Current CPR and First Aid Certification required or obtained upon hire.
Clearances Required: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, and Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance

Preferred candidates will possess administrative or supervisory experience within a school, approved private school, or special education setting, including responsibility for personnel supervision, program oversight, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Education and Director of Education to lead, plan, implement, and monitor instructional and operational activities at The Day School, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities, administrative policies, and organizational standards.
Provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the IEP process, including compliance, scheduling, team participation, documentation review, and implementation fidelity.
Provides strategic oversight for curriculum development, instructional planning, and program implementation across The Day School to promote high-quality, evidence-based educational practices and student achievement.
Determines eligibility for ESY services; coordinates staffing, procedures, scheduling, and service delivery; and supports the development and maintenance of agreements with school districts and intermediate units.
Supervises student intake processes, educational personnel, and classroom programs, with responsibility for maintaining instructional quality and adherence to performance expectations outlined in The Day School’s observation and evaluation tools.
