The Educational Specialist serves as a point of contact for physicians looking to relocate to or find employment in Hawaii. This role involves attending job fairs, organizing career panels, and conducting presentations on practicing in Hawaii. The specialist will develop and maintain relationships with physician candidates, employers, and relevant organizations, connecting recruiters with potential recruits and vice versa. A key responsibility is updating the DocJobs site with new job opportunities and promoting local employment through various recruitment materials and online platforms. The role also includes researching recruitment incentives and retention strategies, assisting with grant writing for physician incentive programs, and coordinating a young physicians club and a mentor program. Additionally, the specialist will support physician loan repayment programs, assist with data collection and analysis for health workforce reports, and help plan the annual Physician’s Workforce Summit. This position also involves managing P-card usage for departmental purchases and other assigned duties.
