About The Position

Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires a permanent full-time Educational Psychologist. The position can be located in Saskatoon, Kenaston, Regina or Moose Jaw. Sask DLC is a Treasury Board Crown Corporation, created to deliver high-quality and equitable online learning programs to students across the province. Sask DLC’s head office is located in Kenaston, with an administrative office in Regina, and regional campuses located in Estevan, Kenaston, La Ronge, Moose Jaw, Meadow Lake, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current and Yorkton. Reporting to the Superintendent of Student Supports, the Educational Psychologist provides a comprehensive range of psychological services to support students whose learning, mental health, social-emotional functioning, or developmental needs may impact their success in school. Working within a provincial online learning environment, the Educational Psychologist plays a key role in promoting equitable access to learning and student well-being through a balance of psychological assessment, consultation, and system capacity-building. The Psychologist exercises independent professional judgment in accordance with professional standards while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to help identify barriers, inform educational programming, and support positive outcomes for students, families, and staff. This role also contributes to the ongoing development of innovative, responsive psychological services within Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre.

Requirements

Master’s degree in psychology or equivalent.
Registered as a Full Practicing member with Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE) and in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.
Eligibility for certification in school psychology competencies with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists is required.
At least 5 years of experience in an educational or child/youth service setting.
Knowledge of psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation practices related to the cognitive, academic, social-emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs of children and adolescents.
Ability to complete psychological assessments and provide consultation, intervention, and therapeutic support using virtual service delivery platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Q-interactive).
Demonstrated strength in case management, documentation, report writing, and maintaining accurate clinical records.
Effective communication, consultation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, practical assessment reports and recommendations that support both families in the home learning environment and staff within an online educational setting, including making appropriate referrals when needed.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating sound judgment, discretion, and effective decision-making.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community partners.
Knowledge of and adherence to the professional standards and ethical requirements of the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.
Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
Proficiency in digital documentation systems, virtual service delivery platforms, and productivity software required to support assessment, consultation, communication, and case management.

Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with the Student Supports team to support the implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports focused on identifying barriers, developing responsive supports, and monitoring student progress across academic, social-emotional, behavioural, and mental health domains.
Provides psychological assessment, consultation, and diagnostic services for students whose learning, development, mental health, or functioning may be impacting their educational success, in accordance with professional standards, student needs, and organizational priorities.
Interprets assessment findings and prepares clear, practical reports with recommendations that inform educational programming and support both families in the home learning environment and staff within the online learning setting.
Collaborates with students, families, school staff, and community service providers to support coordinated planning, appropriate referrals, and access to services when needed.
Supports student safety planning, behavioural risk assessment, crisis prevention, and consultation as part of a multidisciplinary response to promote safe, supportive, and healthy learning environments.
Applies culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practices when assessing, consulting, and supporting diverse learners and families.
Adapts psychological assessment and consultation practices for virtual service delivery while maintaining professional standards, clinical integrity, and accessibility for students and families.
Contributes psychological expertise through consultation, collaborative problem-solving, professional learning, and resource sharing to support staff in responding to the diverse learning, behavioural, social-emotional, and mental health needs of students.
Collaborates with other student services professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, comprehensive supports for students with diverse learning and mental health needs.
Maintains accurate, confidential, and up-to-date assessment records, case documentation, and student files in accordance with professional, ethical, and organizational standards.
Provides updates to the Superintendent of Student Supports regarding service delivery, emerging needs, caseload trends, and system-level considerations, as required.
Participates in interdisciplinary case consultation, reflective practice, and continuous improvement efforts to support the ongoing development of psychological services within Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Student Supports.
