Join the UTHealth Department of Neurology – Stroke Institute as a full-time Educational Programs Coordinator and play a key role in advancing high-quality educational initiatives that support healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes. In this dynamic position, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple educational programs, including monthly webinars and a large annual in-person symposium. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, self-directed professional who can successfully manage complex projects, develop and write grants to secure educational funding, track program metrics and outcomes, and collaborate with CME/CNE partners and other stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • 5 years related experience in an educational setting with one year in a lead or supervisory role required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.
  • Experience in classroom teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and manages the operations of the education office, which may include staff and equipment.
  • Responsible for providing administrative and/or technical support in the development and evaluation of educational components, including but not limited to websites and grading systems.
  • Assists course directors in the development of course syllabi and exams. Assists in the production of finished products, setting up and proctoring exams. Evaluates, modifies and updates testing procedures.
  • May prepare, maintain, and monitor budget for Educational Programs Office, managing funds for equipment, training, office supplies, etc.
  • Serves as liaison between faculty and administrative departments within the University to provide a smooth flow of information. Also liaison between faculty and students regarding grades and non-urgent issues. Identifies and alerts course directors and Chairman of possible course related issues to be resolved by faculty and/or department administration.
  • Manage administrative needs of student teaching assistants including personnel issues, payroll and coordination of duties.
  • Assists faculty in the development of educational materials using PowerPoint and other software as well as training faculty on the use of the programs on a laptop.
  • Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
